The Centre County Board of Commissioners have taken great measures to strengthen Geographic
Information Systems (GIS) within Centre County. The Commissioners, along with the Penn State Land Analysis Lab have formed an initiative called “CentreMap” that results in the dissemination of high
quality maps and GIS information through an advanced internet mapping system. This initiative is a strong effort to provide wide-spread access to mapping tools and accurate Centre County
GIS data. The Commissioners feel that CentreMap will help the public and other interested parties make more informed decisions by providing tools to view and analyze spatial data.
